Yoshitake DP-100F Pilot-Operated Solenoid Valve

Yoshitake DP-100F is a pilot-operated piston solenoid valve designed for precise flow control of steam, air, cold and hot water, nitrogen, carbon dioxide (dry), argon, and oil (20 cSt or less). Built with a cast stainless steel (SCS14A) body and piston, it features exceptional corrosion resistance suitable for clean fluids. The valve utilizes a PTFE gasket to improve air tightness and incorporates an Anti-Sticking Mechanism (ASM) that provides three times more scale resistance compared to conventional models. It operates within a wide pressure range of 0 to 1.0 MPa and connects via JIS 10K FF flanges.

Nominal Size Selection

For Steam

When selecting the nominal size of a solenoid valve whose inlet pressure (P1), outlet pressure (P2), and steam (saturated steam) flow rate (W) are 0.5 MPa, 0.3 MPa, and 800 kg/h respectively:

  1. Find the intersection point (a) of P1 = 0.5 MPa and P2 = 0.3 MPa.
  2. Trace down vertically from point (a) to find intersection point (b) with W = 800 kg/h.
  3. Since intersection point (b) lies between nominal sizes 25A and 32A, select the larger size, 32A.

For Water

When selecting the nominal size of a solenoid valve whose inlet pressure (P1), outlet pressure (P2), and flow rate (V) are 0.5 MPa, 0.3 MPa, and 300 L/min respectively:

  1. Find the intersection point (a) of the differential pressure before and after the valve (ΔP = 0.5 – 0.3 = 0.2 MPa) and V = 300 L/min.
  2. Since this intersection point (a) lies between nominal sizes 25A and 32A, select the larger size, 32A.

Operation Principles

Opening Operation

When the power is turned ON (for normally closed types) or OFF (for normally open types), the coil is excited/canceled and acts on the plunger to open the pilot valve. The pressure at the upper part of the main valve drops as it flows to the outlet through the pilot port, lifting the main valve to the open position by the inlet pressure. Closing Operation

When the power is turned OFF (for normally closed types) or ON (for normally open types), the pilot valve is closed. The pressure at the upper part of the valve rises due to incoming inlet pressure from the bleed port. This pushes the valve down to the closed position. Yoshitake DP-100F closing operation diagram

Installation and Piping

WARNING

  • Minimum Differential Pressure: A differential pressure of at least 0.03 MPa is required to actuate the product when installed vertically with the coil set sideways.
  • Vacuum Prevention: If used in a steam line where negative pressure may generate when closed, install a vacuum breaker at the outlet.
  • Steam Trapping: When using the product in a steam line, install a steam trap and avoid condensate accumulation at the inlet side.
  • Piping Size: Do not reduce the inlet pipe diameter below the nominal size of the valve. Use the stop valves at the inlet and outlet side in full open condition.
