TLV LV13L Thermostatic Steam Trap - Balanced Pressure Brass Trap

TLV LV13L brass balanced pressure thermostatic steam trap with fail-open design for tracing and small processes. Up to 1.3 MPaG (13 barg) and 200°C.

TLV LV13L Thermostatic Steam Trap - Balanced Pressure Brass Trap

TLV LV13L is a balanced pressure thermostatic steam trap constructed with a brass body, featuring a reliable "fail open" design that prevents condensate from holding back in the steam space. This compact yet high-capacity trap is highly suitable for small processes, tracing lines, vessels, and heaters, accommodating operating pressures up to 13 barg (1.3 MPaG) and temperatures up to 200°C.

Features

  • "Fail Open" Design: Will not hold back condensate in the steam space in the event of failure.
  • Multi-diaphragm Construction: Ensures long service life and reliable cyclic operation.
  • Fixed Subcooling: Operates with fixed subcooling (up to 6°C) throughout the entire pressure range.
  • Outstanding Air Venting: Highly sensitive X-element rapidly discharges air and cold condensate at startup.
  • Tight Shutoff: Hardened stainless steel "flat valve" and "cone ridge seat" ensure a tight seal.
  • Built-in Screen: Features a large surface area for protection against debris.
  • Easy Maintenance: Designed to be easy to maintain and clean.

  • Differential pressure is the difference between the inlet and outlet pressure of the trap.
  • Recommended safety factor: at least 2.

Installation and Maintenance

TIP

The LV13L can be maintained without being removed from the pipeline, provided the surrounding pipes are securely supported. It is installed in pipelines with a horizontal inlet and vertical outlet (cover facing up).

  • Before installing the steam trap, blow out the inlet piping to remove all dirt and oil.
  • Install the trap in the lowest part of the pipeline or equipment so condensate flows naturally downward into the trap by gravity.
  • Ensure a bypass valve is installed to discharge condensate, and inlet and outlet valves to isolate the trap for maintenance.
  • When replacing parts with new ones, do not coat threaded portions of the valve seat with anti-seize; tighten to the proper torque (35 N·m for valve seat, 80 N·m for cover).
